Microsoft is bringing its Bing AI image generator to the sidebar of its Edge web browser.
Mikhail Parakhin, Microsoft's ad and web services head, says users would be able to "generate the image and insert it right into whatever [they] happen to be editing."
- In late March, Microsoft announced the Bing Image Creator, which is based on an "advanced version" of OpenAI's DALL-E.
- Users with access to the AI-powered Bing preview can generate images by typing in text descriptions in the chat bar.
- Now, the Image Creator is said to be rolling out to Edge desktop users worldwide.
- It will be accessible from the browser's sidebar, the right-side panel with tools, sites, and shortcuts.
- According
to The Verge, adding the image generator to the sidebar will make it
"easier to ask an AI to make you some pictures while you're doing
something else on the web."
- For now, users will have to
manually add Image Creator to the sidebar by pressing the plus button
and turning on the switch next to Image Creator.
