U.K. authorities announced an investigation into Amazon's $1.7B acquisition of iRobot.   U.S. and EU competition regulators are increasingly wary of large firms buying their smaller rivals. Amazon announced in August last year that it would acquire Roomba vacuum cleaner maker iRobot. The deal is currently under investigation by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The U.K.'s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said on Tuesday that it had launched a "Phase 1" probe into the acquisition. The regulator said it must decide by June 16 whether the Amazon-iRobot deal will reduce competition in the U.K.  Amazon told Reuters that the company is working with national regulators as they probe the deal.
