YouTube Premium upgrade

 

YouTube Premium introduced a number of new features for subscribers on Monday. Premium subscribers now get access to enhanced bitrate 1080p HD video streams on iOS; the higher-quality streams are coming soon to the web as well. YouTube also added support for Apple's SharePlay, allowing multiple users to view videos together; unlike other platforms that have added SharePlay options for FaceTime users, however, the shared feeds will only be available for YouTube Premium subscribers. The platform also introduced enhanced queue controls, giving users more freedom to add or move videos around on their "Watch Later" playlists. Existing YouTube Premium perks include background play for viewing while the homescreen is locked, offline downloads, access to YouTube Music Premium and, of course, ad-free streaming. Premium YouTube subscriptions cost $11.99/month.
