Nonprofit China Rescue Dogs has rescued and rehomed 22 dogs, including 17 golden retrievers, from dog meat farms in China.

The dogs received veterinary care and microchips and found new homes in various states across the U.S. after a 12-hour flight from China to Los Angeles.

  • WeatherTech CEO David MacNeil covered the flight costs for all 22 dogs after watching a video about the dog meat trade.
  • China Rescue Dogs is raising funds for another rescue flight before the Yulin Dog Meat Festival, which takes place from June 26 to July 1.
  • The festival sees an estimated 50,000 dog deaths daily during the event.
  • The organization aims to rescue and protect more dogs from certain death, and people can support their mission by visiting their website to donate.
