Speaking at an investor conference on Thursday, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav suggested that more streaming services should offer package deals or bundle options

. According to Zaslav, major media and tech companies should consider consolidating streaming platforms while remaining independent businesses, to benefit consumers and "reduce churn."

  • Zaslav also cautioned that, if companies don't take the initiative on consolidating their offerings, "I think it'll be done to us," though he offered no additional specifics.
  • Speaking about CNN, Zaslav said his goal was to "show both sides of every issue"; he praised CNN CEO Chris Licht for putting more Republicans on the network, as "The Republicans weren't on the air."
  • In a widely-shared quote, Zaslav used an elaborate weather metaphor to describe the current state of the entertainment industry: "And so you have the rain from the bad advertising market, you got the wind coming in, because we all have to build platforms and it's not rational, and all of a sudden you get in a little bit of sleet on the side, it's inclement weather, but we're now on the porch."
