- Harris acknowledged that AI has the potential to enhance lives but could also jeopardize safety, privacy, and civil rights.
- She stressed the CEOs' legal obligation to guarantee the safety of their AI products and assured them of the administration's willingness to push for new AI regulations and support relevant legislation.
- The White House also announced several new AI initiatives, including a $140M investment from the National Science Foundation to create seven new National AI Research Institutes, bringing the total to 25.
- The White House Office of Management and Budget also revealed plans to issue draft policy guidance on the use of AI tools by federal agencies, inviting public feedback starting in the summer.
