The U.K.'s Competition and Markets Authority

The U.K.'s Competition and Markets Authority is probing American auto parts supplier LKQ Corp's $2.1B agreement to acquire automotive paint specialist Uni-Select.

The regulator expects a preliminary decision by Aug. 10.

Uni-Select has over 1,000 corporate customers and supplies over 16,000 auto repair shops in Canada.

  • LKQ focuses on recycled and aftermarket parts and replacement systems.
  • The acquisition would be funded via a combination of cash, debt, and bridge financing from Bank of America and Wells Fargo.
