According to BEVH, sales via e-commerce decreased 8.8% YoY in Germany during 2022. 

 In absolute numbers, sales in the sector were valued at $98.36B.


  • The increased cost of living could be one of the causes behind the decrease in online spending.
  • However, compared with pre-pandemic levels, e-commerce sales are still higher. Customers bought 24.5% more goods in 2022 than in 2019.
  • Online travel agencies and ticket-selling platforms increased sales by 39.9% in 2022.
  • BEVH forecasts that sales in the e-commerce sector will only grow 4.8% in 2023.
