According to a report in Sports Business Journal, Amazon may be pursuing NASCAR streaming rights.

SBJ's John Ourand said it was unlikely that NASCAR would seriously consider making any Cup Series races exclusive to the Prime Video platform, due to the potential for outside brand deals for both the races themselves and the competing teams.

  • Fox and NBC are both in negotiations to extend their current deals with NASCAR, which were signed in 2013 and valued at a combined $820 million per year.
  • According to the report, NASCAR could complete its new media deals by the fall, if all goes well.
  • Some sources did indicate that NASCAR was considering a third package of content -- in addition to the Fox and NBC arrangements -- that could go to a streamer.
  • In addition to Amazon, Disney, Paramount, and Warner Bros. Discovery are all potential bidders on a NASCAR streaming rights package.
