Amazon introduced a $5-a-month subscription that covers some generic drugs and their delivery.
The program is called RxPass and will be available for Prime members in the U.S.

- The subscription will not be available for customers enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid, or any other government programs.
- RxPass will include 50 medications for 80 chronic conditions, such as high blood pressure, anxiety, and diabetes.
- John Love, vice president of Amazon Pharmacy, said customers will save an average of $100 per year with the subscription.
- Amazon has shown previous interest in healthcare services. The company has invested in telehealth, drug delivery, fitness trackers, and cancer research over the last few years.
