Many working parents face difficult challenges in balancing their careers with raising a family, and trying to advance in their jobs can seem daunting. Amazon supports working parents with a flexible working environment and access to skills programs that can help them take the next steps in their careers. Christine Steller has excelled in Amazon's Career Choice program, an education benefit for hourly employees that includes prepaid college tuition. Steller started at an Amazon delivery station in Colfax, North Carolina, in November 2021, after hunting for a job that would provide her the pay and flexibility to enjoy time with her husband and five children, all under the age of 11. She enrolled in Career Choice almost immediately after starting and is now in an online college program, pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical and computer engineering, going at her own pace. "Amazon has changed my life," she said. |
