New research shows that 67% of American adults are concerned about the safety of using generative AI technology.

This comes when many brands are starting to integrate technology into their products and advertisements and use technology as a marketing strategy.

  • 52% of Americans say that they do not trust technology.
  • 54% said they are familiar with the technology, and 20% of Americans have used it.
  • 58% said that they believe things created without AI technology are better.
  • 39% said that they supported the use of AI to make ads.
  • These insights show that using ChatGPT-powered ads by companies like Mint Mobile or Avocados From Mexico, which are intended to be funny or humorous, could have a negative impact on a significant portion of Americans.
  • The insights also show that brands like Buzzfeed promoting the integration of GPT3 into their stories, quizzes, and content could scare away potential readers who do not trust the technology and do not want to use products that integrate it.
