A recent "Simpsons" episode featuring a joke about "forced labor camps" in China will not stream on Disney platforms in Hong Kong.

The episode finds Marge taking a virtual tour of the Great Wall during an indoor spin class, and mentions "forced labor camps where children make smartphones" as one of the "wonders of China."

  • The episode -- titled "One Angry Lisa" -- aired on Fox in October, and is streaming in the US on Hulu, but has remained unavailable to stream on Hong Kong's Disney+ platform.
  • A Hong Kong national security law -- passed in 2020 -- bans "sedition, secession, and subversion" against the Chinese government.
  • Disney previously pulled a "Simpsons" episode from Hong Kong Disney+ that depicted the family visiting Tiananmen Square, the site of an infamous 1989 pro-democracy protest that ended in a massacre.
