An employee from Amazon gathered information on laid-off employees to circulate among recruiters and found that most of them came from the robotics, grocery, health, and AWS divisions.  In early January 2023, Amazon announced plans to lay off 18,000 employees. Amazon has not officially detailed where the layoffs have been concentrated. CEO Andy Jassy only said they would focus on physical stores and human resources. The company is expected to show single-digit revenue growth throughout 2023. Experts blame slow growth, a possible recession, and decreasing consumer spending.
