Ben Stiller is in final talks to executive produce and star in a scripted series adaptation of the documentary "Three Identical Strangers."
"Party
of Five" co-creator Amy Lippman will serve as writer and showrunner on
the project, which is being shopped around to various networks and
streamers.
- The story centers around
Bobby Shafran, David Kellman, and Eddy Galland, three strangers who
discovered at age 19 that they were actually triplets who had been
separated at birth.
- Each of the brothers also struggled with mental health issues, and over time, their relationship deteriorated.
- Stiller will play all three men as adults.
- This
marks a return to acting for Stiller, who has recently directed and
produced the Apple TV+ sci-fi drama "Severance" and Showtime's limited
series "Escape at Dannemora."
- The 2018 documentary on the case, "Three Identical Strangers," is now streaming on Hulu in the US.
