Digital commerce spending was up 21% YoY, according to Comscore's 2023 Digital Commerce Report bringing the total to over $1T in 2022.
The
report shows that social commerce continues to grow within the retail
ecosystem, a trend that has already dominated Asian markets but was late
to catch on in North America.
- Mobile
purchases accounted for 40% of all digital consumer retail spending in
Q4 2022 and were higher than spending on desktop devices.
- The report shows that engagement with sponsored content was up by 153% on Facebook and 175% on Instagram from 2021 to 2022.
- TikTok
grew the number of views for sponsored content on its platform by 407%,
from 2.4 billion views in 2020 to 12 billion views in 2022.
