Doig exits Disney

Jeremy Doig, Disney's chief technology officer overseeing the company's streaming services, exited the company following its latest corporate restructure.

Doig joined Disney last March after many years at Google's parent company, Alphabet; he had been responsible for the technology behind Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+.

  • According to Bloomberg, Aaron LaBerge will step in to lead the technology teams for Disney's media businesses.
  • The new corporate restructure puts Alan Bergman and Dana Walden in charge of a new Disney Entertainment division, which will oversee streaming services.
  • The company also announced plans to fire 7,000 employees as a cost-cutting measure.
