Tubi's Big Game ad

Tubi: Interface Interruption

A 15-second Super Bowl ad promoting Fox's free Tubi streaming service faked out live viewers by making it look like someone had accidentally hit the TV remote.

The ad appeared to return to the main Fox Sports Super Bowl broadcast, before announcers Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen get interrupted by someone scrolling through the Tubi app for something else to watch.

  • The commercial was titled "Interface Interruption," and was produced by the marketing firm Mischief.
  • Also during the Big Game, Amazon debuted a new 60-second spot for its behind-the-scenes sneaker drama "Air," spending a reported $7 million to promote the film from Matt Damon and co-star/director Ben Affleck.
  • According to USA Today's Ad Meter, the most impactful Super Bowl ad promoted the fresh pet food company The Farmer's Dog, and told the story of a young girl and her beloved chocolate lab, Bear.
