Dubai launches 'Mall of the Metaverse

 

Majid Al Futtaim, an Emirati holding company based in Dubai, has announced the launch of Dubai's first virtual mall, Mall of the Metaverse.   The virtual mall will soon be available to users looking for enhanced digital experiences from their brands.  The mall is initially developing as the Majid Al Futtaim group looks "closely" at customers' needs and expectations. The Mall of the Metaverse will be represented in the Decentraland universe, a blockchain-based virtual world.  Inside the virtual mall, customers can come across Carrefour, VOX Cinemas, THAT Concept Store, Ghawali, and Samsung Store. Dubai's metaverse strategy aims to support 40,000 virtual jobs by the end of 2030 and add $4B to its economy.
