Hendrik Hey, a European TV producer, has created the new MILC metaverse and launched the virtual world's first film festival, called "Alpha Film Festival."
Hey, the founder of Europe's version of a PBS docu-series, believes the metaverse will "fundamentally change" how we view and distribute films.
- In partnership with The Film Verdict, the Alpha Film Festival is bringing film into Web3, called "Film3."
- The virtual festival is scheduled to occur across five days, March 3-7, 2023, with six short films confirmed.
- According to Hey, MILC is a "multimedia content platform and marketplace with few, if any, competitors."
- The five-day festival is designed to be a community experience, "not a money-making venture," according to Hey.
