EBay will lay off 4% of its workforce, which is about 500 employees.  CEO Jamie Iannone said the decision was made after analyzing the global macroeconomic environment in the past few months. Iannone stated that the layoffs will allow eBay to invest in high-potential areas, new technologies, customer innovations, and key markets. EBay announced the move on a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. Just last week, another tech company, Zoom, announced it will lay off 1,300 employees. These layoffs add to Google, Microsoft, and Salesforce's recent layoffs, affecting 1,300, 12,000, and 7,000 employees, respectively.
