Fox "Big Lie" lawsuit

PICTURED, L TO R: FOX HOSTS TUCKER CARLSON, LAURA INGRAHAM, AND SEAN HANNITY

According to a court filing, Fox owner Rupert Murdoch thought that the 2020 election fraud claims promoted by his media outlet were "crazy.

In documents related to its $1.6B lawsuit against Fox News and Fox Corporation, Dominion Voting Systems also alleged that hosts Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson promoted Donald Trump's claims of election fraud, even though they knew the claims to be bogus.

  • The lawsuit says that Fox promoted damaging claims that Dominion's voting machines were manipulated to steal the election from Trump, despite knowing that such claims were false.
  • Hannity, who invited election deniers to his show, allegedly wrote in the weeks following the election that Trump is "acting like an insane person."
  • Carlson said that Trump attorney Sidney Powell was a liar who was an "unguided missile" and "dangerous as hell."
  • He allegedly told a Fox producer that Trump was a "demonic force" who could "easily destroy us if we play it wrong."
  • Ingraham described Powell as “a complete nut," saying that "no one will work with her. Ditto with Rudy.”
  • The quotes were released as part of a 192-page redacted summary judgment brief filed by Dominion's attorneys at the Delaware Superior Court on Thursday.
  • The trial is set to begin in mid-April.
