 The report shares insights from a survey of 591 professional podcasters. 



  • The report was created primarily for PR professionals to remain updated with trends, challenges, content, and podcasters' pitch preferences. 
  • A year-on-year increase in podcasters hired by media companies as well as those hired by existing podcast teams indicates that more media firms are creating their own shows. 
  • When it comes to part-time creators, more than half (53%) say they work on two or more shows at the same time. 
  • When looking for episode ideas, 45% of creators say current events are their biggest source, while 35% state ongoing research as inspiration and 32% say audience requests.
