January was the fifth straight month that online prices decreased in the U.S. on a YoY basis.

According to Adobe, online prices fell 1.7% YoY.

  • The price decrease was stronger on electronics, down 11.9% YoY, and computers, down 15.8% YoY.
  • Categories with persistent inflation also showed reduced price growth.
    • Grocery prices increased 12.6% YoY, but in December 2022, they had increased more, 13.5% YoY.
  • Adobe's Digital Price Index (DPI) did record a 1.7% MoM increase in overall January prices.
    • The end of discounts due to the holiday season could have contributed to that.
