MIT now offers a Wellness Wizard Certificate to undergraduates who complete three Physical Education and Wellness courses.

The certificate program and broader initiative aim to improve student health and relationships, which will help the students learn more effectively.

  • Jimmy Doan, associate dean of MIT's Office of Student Wellbeing, said the program aligns with MIT's well-being pillars of "mind, body, relationships, and purpose."
  • Courses that students can take toward the Wellness Wizard certificate include resiliency, meditation, stress management, nutrition, positive relationships, financial well-being, and CPR & First Aid.
  • Other classes are on substance abuse & well-being and emotional intelligence and belonging.
  • MIT also offers a Pirate Certificate to students who complete courses in Archery, Fencing, Pistol (Air Pistol or Rifle), and Sailing.
