One in five British citizens has been breached by hackers in the past, a new report claims.

The survey had over 1,000 British participants.

According to this survey, conducted by a Finnish security company, at least 12.6 million British citizens have been breached by hackers in the past.

  • Phishing was the primary threat vector used in these attacks.
  • 70% of the surveyors said they felt confident in their ability to spot dangerous campaigns, while ironically, less than 50% of them said they could assess if their devices were safe or not.

Phishing was the most common type of cybercrime when measured by the number of cases reported in 2021, according to the FBI.
