Replicate, a startup that helps developers run ML models in the cloud, has raised emerged from stealth following a $12.5M Series A round led by Andreessen Horowitz.
Replicate offers a suite of open-source models that enables developers to run ML models with just a few lines of code.
Replicate was founded in 2019 by Ben Firshman and Andreas Jansson, who wanted to remove the technical obstacles associated with AI adoption.
- According to its website, Replicate provides thousands of ready-to-use ML models for image and video generation, high-quality resolution, image-to-text/text-to-image, video editing, and image restoration.
- The startup also developed Cog, an open-source tool that allows developers to package ML models in a standard, production-ready container. This tool is supported by macOS, Linux, and Windows 11.
- The company plans to use its fresh funds to boost company growth.
