Showtime, which is rebranding as Paramount+ with Showtime, announced new spinoffs for two of its most popular series: "Dexter" and "Billions.
" Up to four new shows are in the works set in the "Billions" universe; two are tentatively moving forward with the working titles "Millions" and "Trillions."
- Another "Billions" show will move to action to Miami; the original series is set in New York.
- "Dexter" recently returned with a new season, subtitled "New Blood" and focusing on the character's exploits years after the close of the original show.
- A proposed "Dexter" prequel series would focus on the character's origin; a spinoff based on the show's Trinity Killer character is also in development.
- Showtime also ordered a first season for the political thriller series "The Department," a remake of the French series "Le Bureau des Legendes"; George Clooney executive produces and will direct episodes.
