Spotify has a new "AI DJ" feature that plays curated music and offers commentary between tracks.
The feature, which mimics a radio DJ, uses a user's data to decide what songs to add to their personalized playlist.
Users can press a "DJ" button to hear the service offer commentary on the track or artist. It also does this automatically between every few songs.

- To develop the feature, the music streamer turned to technology from its 2022 acquisition of the AI voice tech platform Sonantic.
- At the time, Spotify said it would incorporate Sonantic's voice technology to create new experiences, such as providing context to its users about upcoming recommendations when they're not looking at their screens.
