Way testing in LA

1. On the move; The City of Angels loses its halo as it becomes the second-largest net loss of households and businesses in over the last four years, with nearly 400,000 more address changes away from the area with many moving out of the state or into more suburban parts of the Inland Empire.

2. Back to the office; Santa Monica-based video game developer Activision Blizzard will require its employees to return to the office at least three days a week starting mid-April.

3. Los Angeles City Council is making efforts to further install more renters' rights with the introduction of a "right to counsel" bill and utility transparency bill that some council members cite could help reduce homelessness and eviction throughout the city.

4. Office space in turmoil; Brookfield Corp's subsidiary announced it defaulted on loans for two commercial office towers in Los Angeles as the office market has seen a massive slump amid pandemic-led remote work shifts.

5. The LA-based networking app for influencers and other creative professionals, Tavrn, has announced it raised $1.4M in pre-seed funding from Hummingbird Ventures to continue building its beta platform.

6. The next stop is LA; Autonoums ridesharing service Waymo is testing its self-driving cars in the city as they await permits to launch to the public.

7. If you want to live in a celebrity house and have two dozen million, it's all yours; Late Late Show host James Corden and his wife Julia Carey list their Brentwood Park mansion for $22M, which the couple bought back in 2017.
