Yandex adds crypto to its converter

 

Popular search engine Yandex has added crypto rates to its currency converter with a new update.  Users can now see data about more than 140 popular cryptocurrencies on the platform besides the information on national currencies.  The Russia-headquartered platform uses CoinGecko’s market data as a source for its new feature.  The new widget is placed just above the search results and includes a price chart and a rapid conversion tool.  The currency converter shows the value of the coins and tokens in many fiat currencies, including the Russian ruble, USD, and euro.  Yandex plans to add more cryptocurrencies and crypto pairs in the future to let its users view the price of a virtual asset in another cryptocurrency. The updated tool is expected to be especially helpful for users in Russia because access to similar tools in other global online platforms is restricted in the country by the Russian government.
