Amazon canceled the mystery-drama series "Three Pines" after a single season.   The series is based on novels by Canadian author Louise Penny, and stars Alfred Molina as Quebec police detective Inspector Gamache. The show was produced by Left Bank Pictures, a division of Sony Pictures Television. Season 1 ended on an unresolved cliffhanger. Showrunner Emilia di Giorlamo left the series after Season 1 to work on another project; she posted on Instagram that "Left Bank, Sony & Prime Video all wanted to bring the show back but were unable to reach a mutually beneficial agreement."
