Amazon has 37% market share of retail media industry

 


Amazon continues to dominate the retail media network industry accounting for 37% of the market share in the industry, according to MediaRadar. 

The fast-growing industry is expected to be worth over $100B. 

In 2022, Amazon's retail media network featured 14,200 companies that owned over 17,000 different brands. 

  • Amazon alone had a larger share of the retail media network industry than all general mass retailers (which includes both Walmart and Target), with that entire industry representing 36% of the retail media market. 
  • Nearly 75% of the retail media network industry spending is captured by Amazon and other general mass retailers. 
  • Amazon reported that its ad sales for its retail media network were $11.6B in Q4 2022 — roughly four times as much as Walmart's spending ($2.7B) for the entire year.
