Heinz partners with Fortnite

 



Heinz aims to raise awareness around the issue of soil degradation through an initiative with Fortnite to build a unique Fortnite island called "S.O.S Tomato Island."

 The island will be modeled after Heinz's tomato farm, and when playing on the island, the playable space on the island will shrink 33% faster than in the regular game to demonstrate the rapid decline of soil health. 

The partnership will include integration with Twitch to promote the new island and expose the problem to gamers through the streaming platform. 

  • Heinz is also raising awareness by promising to protect 13.5 million acres of soil along with its existing environmental programs. 
  • Heinz has been focused on sustainability since 2020 as part of a broader marketing push to align the company with the interests and passions of younger generations. 
  • The initiative was developed by Druid Gaming.
