Microsoft has started testing a non-custodial crypto wallet in its web browser, Edge, according to a recent report by Bleeping Computer.
The new feature was disclosed through screenshots shared on Twitter.
The feature was predicted to be available only to Microsoft Edge Dev Channel users as part of a limited test phase.
- Screenshots have revealed that the wallet passwords and recovery keys will be embedded in Edge.
- Microsoft's built-in crypto wallet users will be in complete control of their funds, and the company will not reimburse any harm from the loss of funds.
- Several screenshots have also shown that the wallet has integrations into crypto exchange Coinbase and crypto payment solution MoonPay, as well as support for NFTs and crypto swaps.
- Other details include a partnership with Ethereum software company ConsenSys that would offer built-in crypto swaps between Ether (ETH), Uniswap (UNI), along with Dai (DAI), the USD Coin (USDC), and Tether (USDT) stablecoins.
- Microsoft has yet to make an official statement related to the new feature.
The rival Opera and Brave web browsers also have several crypto-related features, including a built-in crypto wallet.
