Netflix grabbed the rights to produce a film adaptation of the Riley Sager novel "The House Across the Lake."

"Bridesmaids" and "The School for Good and Evil" vet Paul Feig may come on board to direct the film.

  • The project comes from producing duo Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, the duo behind the CW's "Arrowverse" TV series.
  • The book centers on a recently-widowed actress who retreats to a remote Vermont lakehouse to escape the attention of the press and becomes fascinated with the glamorous couple living across the way.
  • Feig is next slated to direct the dystopian action-comedy "Grand Death Lotto," starring Awkwafina and John Cena, for Amazon.
