Netflix
ordered a new comedy series from "The Good Place" and "Brooklyn
Nine-Nine" vet Mike Schur, based on the 2021 Oscar-nominated documentary
"The Mole Agent." Ted
Danson will star as a retired man who answers a help wanted ad, and
gets enlisted as a spy in a private investigator's latest case.
- The original Chilean documentary
centered on a PI who hired an elderly man to go undercover in a nursing
home, to look into allegations of resident abuse by the staff; it's now
streaming on Hulu in the US.
- Schur and Danson previously
collaborated on the NBC sitcom "The Good Place," which aired for four
seasons and earned the actor three Emmy nominations.
- Schur also co-created "Rutherford Falls" for Peacock and currently executive produces HBO Max's "Hacks."
