New data from CGA reveals a 7% YoY increase in sales velocity in the U.S. on-trade, driven by increased visitation numbers.

  Recent occasions, including Valentine’s Day and President’s Day, saw sales velocity return to normal.

Checks for drinks-led occasions are rising across the U.S., outpacing check value.

  • Sales velocity in New York increased the most YoY at 9%, followed by Texas at 5%, Illinois at 3%, and California at 1%. Florida saw a 2% drop.
  • Hotel restaurants and bars are popular on-premise channels for U.S. consumers on vacation.
  • Research by CGA found that 30% of Mexican consumers participated in "Dry January," with the majority continuing to visit the on-trade.
