Samsung has recently submitted a trademark application to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for "Galaxy Glasses."
The Korean tech giant trademark filing includes "virtual reality headsets, augmented reality headsets, headphones, smartphones, and smart glasses."
- TM Roh, the head of Samsung's mobile experience business, said an upcoming Samsung XR device is "getting there, but we're not too far away," the Washington Post reported.
- Google is reportedly developing the software, while Samsung makes the hardware.
- The Korean tech company has not previously placed its VR devices under the Galaxy brand.
- Samsung Gear VR and its PC VR headset HMD Odyssey are sold individually from Samsung mobile devices.
