The U-Conn Huskies are the only team that has ever made it to the Final Four previously, marking the first time since 1970 that there are three first-time finalists.
The Connecticut Huskies is the top seed after winning its previous four games in the tournament by an average margin of 22.5 points.

- Miami coach Jim Larrañaga will be the only head coach in the Final Four to have previously led a team to the NCAA tournament's quarter-finals.
- In 2006, he coached the 11th-seeded George Mason through the tournament, with his team beating the top-ranked Connecticut Huskies in overtime in the Elite Eight to make it to the Final Four.
The San Diego State Aztecs will face off against the Florida Atlantic Owls on Saturday afternoon.
