The
Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC), a Virginia-based
technology company specializing in government services and IT support,
has invested $5M in Colorado-based cloud automation startup Morpheus Data.
This strategic investment will enable SAIC to help its customers manage multiple cloud environments.
- Founded in 2015, Morpheus Data
is a hybrid cloud management and application infrastructure automation
engine that purports to reduce cloud costs by 30% and provision services
150 times faster while providing enhanced security.
- According
to its website, Morpheus Data offers flexibility, allowing users to run
any app on any private or public cloud. The automation engine also
stores all VMs, clouds, containers, and apps in a single location.
- Morpheus
claims its cloud cost analytics engine compares usage and costs across
clouds to assist with decision-making on where workloads should be
provisioned.
- SAIC
is incorporating Morpheus Data’s technology into its own cloud platform
to provide its customers with a more streamlined approach to managing
multiple cloud environments. Through this investment, SAIC customers can
access a dashboard that provides an overview of power consumption,
computer memory usage, and overall infrastructure costs.
