VC firm Transform Ventures is partnering with digital asset fund Alpha Sigma Capital in a bid to raise $100M for two funds.

 

VC firm Transform Ventures is partnering with digital asset fund Alpha Sigma Capital in a bid to raise $100M for two funds. 

The funds include a digital asset fund called Alpha Liquid and a closed-end venture fund called Aegean Fund

  • The funds will be managed by Alpha Transform Holdings, a new holding company formed by merging some of Transform's assets with Alpha Sigma's. 
    • Transform's founder Michael Terpin committed $2.65M from his personal wealth to the venture, with an option to make an additional investment of $2.9M. 
  • The Aegean Fund will back early-stage startups in blockchain, AI, and emerging tech sectors. 
  • Despite the recent fallout of crypto startups, Alpha Sigma CEO and founder Enzo Villani believes that "The real growth of blockchains and the real growth of Web 3 are starting to happen."
