The
quality and quantity of sleep can improve your mood, energy, and mental
health, but studies show almost half of all Americans aren't getting
enough quality sleep. Dr. Michael Miyamoto, an Amazon sleep expert,
offers a few tips: -
Remove
distractions like smartphones and televisions at bedtime. They can be
overstimulating and make it harder to fall asleep. Instead, ask your
Alexa device to play your favorite podcast, lead a guided meditation, or
play ambient sounds, like the patter of rainfall or purring cats. To
access more than a hundred ambient sounds, just say, "Alexa,
open Sleep Jar." -
Pick
up a book before bed, or give your eyes a break by asking Alexa to read
you an audiobook. Just say, "Alexa, read me a nighttime story." The
calm environment can help put your mind at ease. -
Stay
calm and cool. What feels comfortable at bedtime is often too warm for
deep sleep, so consider lowering the thermostat. Amazon's Halo Rise can
help monitor temperature along with light levels and humidity. Plus, the
device works with the Halo app to analyze your sleep and recommend ways
to improve it. |
