All-in-one real estate technology platform Place filed a lawsuit against advisory firm Vista Point Advisors.

Place assists real estate agents with administrative support, marketing and branding, lead generation, and accounting.

  • In Nov. 2021, Place raised a $100M Series A round at a $1B valuation led by Goldman Sachs. The advisory firm is claiming a $4.9M service from the Series A financing.
  • The lawsuit concerns Place co-founder Ben Kinney's other company Brivity, for which Vista Point was hired to find a buyer in 2019.
  • The lawsuit accused Vista Point of providing a very early skeleton instead of a list of potential buyers showing its lack of familiarity with the real estate business.
  • Place claims it was founded in Oct. 2021, one year after Vista Point ceased all contact with Brivity.
