Amazon Web Services (AWS) launched its first Defense Accelerator for startups in the U.K. and EMEA startups with a presence in the country.
One year later, following the program’s success, AWS expanded its defense-focused startup accelerator to the rest of Europe.
- The AWS Defense Accelerator aims to support startups using cloud technologies to provide defensive cyber, data discovery and optimization, space exploitation, and sustainability solutions.
- Startups should be focused on developing solutions that address the defense sector’s most pressing challenges, which include mitigating cyber threats and climate change and enhancing cyber resilience.
- The accelerator lasts four weeks and will award up to $75,000 in AWS credits to 15 successful applicants.
- Program eligibility requirements state that startups can be from any country but must have a presence in the European defense sector or an interest in working with related organizations.
- Program participants will also be given access to AWS technologies, mentorship from defense sector organizations, and guidance for go-to-marketing and investment strategies.
