Dennis Maliq Barnes, a high school senior from Louisiana, was accepted to more than 170 colleges and has received more than $9M in scholarship offers.
School officials said Barnes may have reached a new record for the highest number of college offers and have asked the Guinness Book of World Records for official confirmation.
The 16-year-old is graduating two years early with a 4.98 GPA.
- He said he wants to study computer science as an undergraduate before going to law school.
- Barnes, who applied to 200 schools, has not yet decided where he will study but plans to announce his decision next month.
