During an annual meeting with shareholders, Disney CEO Bob Iger discussed the possibility of licensing some of its titles and characters to outside companies.

In response to a question, Iger acknowledged that the company would be open to considering third-party licensing, after years spent securing exclusive rights to its core character line-up.

  • Iger noted that the company was particularly protective of its "core Marvel, Disney, Pixar [and] Star Wars product."
  • This was Iger's first shareholder meeting since rejoining Disney in November 2022.
  • Iger also introduced a clip of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson announcing plans for a live-action "Moana" remake.
