Gap to lay off more workers

Gap plans to lay off hundreds of corporate employees.

The layoffs come in addition to a previous round of job cuts announced in September.

  • Gap's initial round of layoffs eliminated about 500 jobs in its corporate offices.
  • The latest round of layoffs is expected to be larger, reports the Wall Street Journal.
  • The new job cuts target Gap's international sourcing division, finance team, and San Francisco headquarters.
  • CEO Bob Martin said in March that the company is seeking "a simplified leadership and operating structure."
