Insider Gaming reports that Sony is developing a PlayStation-branded handheld gaming device.

The “Q Lite” would stream the games from a nearby Playstation 5 via the console's “Remote Play” feature.

  • Unlike Valve's Steam Deck or the Logitech G Cloud, Sony's device would not stream games from the cloud.
  • According to Insider Gaming, the PlayStation handheld resembles a PS5 controller but has an 8-inch LCD touchscreen.
  • Just like Sony's DualSense controller, it would feature adaptive triggers for haptic feedback.
  • It would stream at up to 1080p and 60 FPS.
  • Insider predicts a possible release date before the new PlayStation 5 Pro, Sony's mid-generation console that could come out in late 2024.
