Oracle announced today that it would open a second cloud region in Singapore amid a surge in demand for cloud services in APAC. 

 The cloud giant reportedly plans to open 10 additional public cloud regions by an unspecified date. 

  • Oracle currently operates 41 public cloud regions in 22 countries. 
  • Oracle’s existing public cloud region in Singapore boasts over 1,000 customers. 
  • The upcoming Oracle cloud region in Singapore will provide access to 100+ OCI services and applications, including Oracle Autonomous Database, MySQL, Oracle Container Engine for Kubernetes, and many more. 

  • In Dec. 2022, Oracle CEO Safra Catz announced plans to invest $2.4B quarterly in cloud infrastructure to ensure the company meets the “accelerating demand” for cloud services.    
  • AWS, Microsoft, and Google all have public cloud regions in Singapore.
